This is the journey behind that craft.
Art was my first language
My mom kept me stocked with coloring books and crayons, and I'd draw everywhere — even on the edges of pages to extend the scene. I didn't just color inside the lines; I kept expanding them.
Growing up everywhere taught me curiosity
My parents' military life took me overseas, surrounded by different languages and ways of living. That early exposure made me curious about one question I still chase in design — what brings people together?
The Air Force and Disney were unlikely teachers
I joined the Air Force to pay for design school and later performed at Walt Disney World while studying. Two opposite worlds — discipline and imagination — that taught me creativity thrives with structure.
eLearning gave me room to build
My first design job was in eLearning — illustration, animation, audio, and motion. It taught me to tell stories through pixels. From there, I explored everything: web, print, vehicle wraps, leading my first team at Zidea and learning the joy of building with others.
From code to clarity
Working with developers made me want to understand what happened beneath the surface, so I learned to code. A UX mentor soon challenged me to ask "why," not just "how." That shift took me to Garmin, where I fully embraced UX and never looked back.
Mentorship became my multiplier
I've led and mentored designers at Zidea, Deutsche Bank, and Align — helping them find confidence in their craft. Mentorship isn't about answers; it's about creating space for others to grow.
Tinkering keeps me inspired
I'm a creative tinkerer — customizing cars, designing spaces, flying drones, and experimenting with photography. Building things my own way keeps me curious and recharges my creativity.
Kori the Pom website is my passion project
I'm building the official site for Kori the Pom — the most viral dog on TikTok 1B views on a single video. It's part creative venture, part community experiment, and something I deeply believe in.
